Pre-requisites: Regular attendance at classes and consultations. Participation and work in class. Compulsory preparation for class on the basis of previously determined reading list.

Course objectives: Specific application of the scientific research bases and interpretative methods in their own work - scientific work and study text in the field of History and Theory of Modern Art.

Course description: Theoretical part of teaching: History of Modern Art History and fundamental methodological trends and doctrines primarily during the 20th century and at the end of the 20th century: Modernism and its methods; what is Postmodernism; Postmodernism and Methodology; what is the New Art History; Formalism / Structuralism / Psychoanalysis / the New Art History. Practical work: Text analysis; applying the analysis to a specific thematic issue or a problem.

Learning Outcomes: The student is qualified for independent, scientific and creative interpretation of a work of art, phenomenon, approach, or a problem.
