Pre-requisites: Students are obliged to, besides attending lectures, participate in a group project. Project participation entails: research of a given topic, bibliographical research on the internet in the Center for Digital Archaeology and presentation of the project during for that designated sessions.

Course description: Students will attend lectures about “classical” archaeological prospection methods (bibliographic, thematic, systematic, protective), as well as modern “technological” methods of detection (geophysical sounding, electrical resistivity, geomagnetic prospection, geo-elastic waves, geo-radar). Closing lectures will be dedicated to the possibility of overlapping various detection methods.

Learning Outcomes: Students will learn about the relation of pre Roman and roman settlements, the influence of trade, craftsmanship, military presence and monetary policy, to the development of a functional complex of Roman provinces.
