Pre-requisites: Finished graduate studies.

Course objectives: Acquainting students with basic problems concerning Ancient rhetoric, its historical development and relation to Serbian rhetorical theory and practice and related disciplines. Enabling students to make orations according to rhetorical rules, and in literary texts to analyze and then detect rhetorical elements.

Course description: Historic and theoretical aspects of Ancient rhetoric, relation between Greek and Roman rhetoric, history of Serbian rhetoric and its relation towards Ancient rhetoric. Rhetoric, poetic, aesthetic, stylistics and critic.

Learning Outcomes: Students now can, with the knowledge they gained on rhetoric and poetic maxims in literature, to recognize independently different elements in style, composition and genre of ancient and contemporary authors.
