Course objectives: Introducing students into the problems of globalization and developing skills for critical analysis of the role of education and learning of adults in global world

Course description: Theoretical course: Globalization – characteristics and critical perspective; Compression of space, time and effects of information flow; Modern theories of evolution and social changes; Globalization, regionalization, networks and international cooperation; Global peace and safety as correspondents of modern adult education; Education and learning of adults between neoliberalism and neoconservativism; Key actors and carriers of globalization process – international institutions and organizations; Global education vs. globalization. Practical course: New social movements and their implications on adult education; Global consciousness and sustainable development; Identity, culture, transnationalism, migrations and conflicts – implications for learning and education of adults.

Learning Outcomes: Student will be capable of: - understanding the globalisation phenomenon and critical review of problems, possibilities and limitations of educational influence on global processes - analysing the basic implications which particular global processes have on education and learning of adults.
