Course objectives: Understanding the theory and models of curriculum development and training for understanding the curriculum directed to competence forming.

Course description: Theoretical course: Theories, models and principles of curriculum development. Curriculum structure and curriculum processes. Origins and approaches to curriculum development. Modularisation and modules in adult education. Outcome-based education. Competence-based education. The nature and the structure of competences. Practical course: Specification of needs for knowledge and skills – social-demographic analysis, Specification of jobs/occupations – functional analysis, DACUM analysis, Work standards. Specification of learning – development of goals and outcomes of learning. Development of descriptors of different levels. Specification of learning conditions – development of learning condition standards. Specification of evaluation – development of evaluation and assessment standards.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of the programme student will: - know the theories, models and principles of curriculum development; - understand the character of learning outcomes and be able to formulate them in different taxonomic levels; - know the procedures and techniques of curriculum development.
